Where do we start. Our perfect mom. She was such a remarkable human being that impacted so many lives in her time. She was a warrior who stopped at nothing to be with her family.
She was a fearless, selfless, and nurturing mother. She was a sister that loved wholeheartedly. Her spontaneous nature allowed her to try anything and everything that brought her joy. From new courses/classes to excitement and adventure, she made sure to live nothing but a FULL life.
Our mom faced the most difficult challenge known to man. She refused to let this disease define her, and was determined to overcome any adversity that was presented to her. Our moms journey started in 2011, when she was first diagnosed with colon cancer. Although she overcame this cancer, we later found out that the cancer had spread to her liver in two locations. By the grace of God, the tumors were centimeters away from an inoperable location. Her doctors were successfully able to remove both tumors via surgery. A few years later, this vigorous cancer had traveled up into her left lung, followed by her right lung shortly after. Once again, our mom entered surgery, fearless and determined to rid her body of this disease. The tumors were surgically removed from her lungs. After that, this cancer continued to spread into her lymph nodes, where a few procedures were done to partially remove the disease. Lastly, the cancer spread to her hip and brain. This would be the last time the disease spread in her body.
She continued with multiple radiation/chemotherapy treatments in order to once more rid her body of this horrendous disease. Saying our mom was a warrior is an understatement, as she fought day after day for nearly 10 years. She outlived multiple prognosis's that only estimated "2-3 months" of a lifespan.
Our mom was the example of resilience and living life to the fullest, with no regrets. "Whatever it takes to be happy" was her life mantra, and she fulfilled that until her last day, as she remained a beacon of positivity for her entire family.
Most prevalent than none, her faith in God carried her day by day and allowed her to enjoy her life. She was a beautiful mother, incredible sister and a lifelong friend.
She's succeeded in life by us, her kids, that will now embark on this journey together without the pillar that held us together. We're asking for financial support to lay our mom to rest, as well as prayers to help us through this time.
Thank you so much.
