When we moved to North Carolina we found a sanctuary, a home like no other.  Elderhaus is a center for people whose lives have been affected by diseases of the mind like Jim's battle with Alzheimer's.  Here he found companionship, friends, loving medical care and support for any need.  Rachel was blessed with fabulous Social Workers, advice from financial to food choices, and shoulders that were always there.  As a team, the staff at Elderhaus worked to make Jim's days happy, safe and secure.  We will be forever in their debt for what they do and for their compassion.
Our  goal here is to gift Elderhaus with a lasting tribute to Jim and to the staff.  They are in the process of building a bigger and better facility.  There will finally be an outside space for clients and group activities.  With the funds from Jim's friends and family we hope to contribute to this space with a bench or the like.  I want them to know they will always be loved and honored.
