Tribute to Jack Barrett

Donation protected

On Thursday July 2, around noon, my cousin’s son was the victim of a hit and run. Two-year-old Jack Barrett (Jack-Jack to his family) passed away a short time later at OHSU, with his daddy holding his hand.

Jack brought so much joy to his family. His mother Angela, father Jeff, sister Brighton, grandparents, and their extended family are devastated at the loss of their sweet boy. Jack was a bundle of energy and fun. He was his daddy’s fishing buddy, his mom’s best hugger, and the biggest admirer of his big sister, Brighton. His family says that he will always be remembered for the way his smile lit up a room, how he ran to everyone with arms wide open for hugs, and how he just loved so hard.

My Uncle Rob was Jack’s great-grandpa, and they shared a special bond over Uncle Rob’s old hot rod. Jack loved that car so much that Uncle Rob had it fitted out last week with a seatbelt and carseat so he could take Jack driving with him in what Jack referred to as the "hot car-car.” He would frequently find his Papa’s shoes and bring them to him so they could go for a ride.

He will be so missed.

Friends have been asking what they can do to help, so we are starting this page as a way to raise funds for Jeff and Angela. We would like to enable them to take time to grieve with their loved ones without having to worry about work or bills.
