Tribute to Halil Cakmaktas and family

Halil Cakmaktas was one of the first Turkish Americans living in Beaumont, Texas since 1978. He was a wonderful Texan who helped and touched the lives of many people. He was an amazing character full of stories and hosted a lot of people in his humble home. . Halil was a longshoreman at the Port of Beaumont for the amount of time he has lived here, he was very interactive with the soccer community and has been refereeing games for over 3 decades and his presence contributed to the muslim community immensely.

Unfortunately, we lost him to an unforeseeable accident on July 21, 2021. He left a wonderful family with a wife and two children. Halil was the only sole provider of the household and was working to put his kids through college. The proceeds of this account will help the family with their financial situation.

Now, it is time to appreciate his contributions to the society. We are launching this fundraising event to support the family in these difficult times. We appreciate your generous support.
