In Loving Memory of Jordy Betances
Donation protected
We are saddened to share that in the early hours of January 1, 2024, heaven gained a few new angels. My nephew, Jordy Betances, 20, was among five people whose lives were tragically cut short in a car accident. See here, https://nypost.com/2024/01/01/metro/5-killed-in-2-car-smash-up-on-cross-island-parkway-on-new-years-day-cops/
Jordy was a loved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and grandson. He was survived by his mother, Adolfina Reyes; his father, Juan Betances; his brothers, Jorge Rodriguez and Juan Betances; and his nephews, Alexander Rodriguez and Jorge Rodriguez.
Jordy came to Corona, NY from the Dominican Republic in 2005. He grew up in Lefrak City where he was known by many friends and family to be “crazy”, as he would never back down from a challenge. Jordy became well known and loved by his community. He impacted many lives during his time here and we are all devastated by the news of his passing.
We would also like to express our sincere condolences to the friends and family of the other occupants in the vehicle. We pray for peace, love and healing to everyone impacted by this tragic accident.
We were not prepared for this sudden loss and the funeral expenses. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Jordy’s funeral. All donations are being wired to Jordy's mother, Adolfina, as I receive them. She will use these donations to pay for funeral expenses such as the viewing, burial, and all of the things that are needed for them.
