“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them.”
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un
On the morning of March 2nd, 2022, we lost our beautiful Shaheed Asad Ahmed Siddiqui due to a tragic incident at the age of 27.
He was extremely passionate, caring and full of life. He was the personification of his name, lion; he loved and lived fiercely. Asad was the kind of person who, if he could, would create wells with his own two hands. He was the kind of person who would make sure those around him were fed before he began to eat. He will be deeply missed by everyone who was able to spend even a single moment with him.
The initiatives we will contribute to are a reflection of the characteristics that made us love Asad. The Naz family wishes to honour his life by supporting Islamic Relief Canada and the Paani Project (links below) that continue to do the kind of work Asad aspired to do, such as providing food/water to orphans and refugees.
Through the Paani Project, $15,000 will provide Solar Panel Water and a Power Center to a village in Tharparkar, Pakistan. These provide running water to the homes of up to 1,600 people & 1,000 livestock, but also supply electricity and power to schools.
Through Islamic Relief Canada, we will sponsor an orphan for the next 5 years.
Asad was a beloved son, brother and friend. Regardless of size, all donations will help us collectively continue his legacy and impact in the Dunya, Akhirah, and support the Naz family through these difficult times. Please join us in completing this Sadaqah Jariyah in Asad’s name.
