Tribute Bricks for Fallen Fireighter and 9-11 Hero
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Brady. I am raising funds for my great Uncle Frank and for Welles Remy Crowther. These two men mean a lot to me.
The money raised will go toward sponsoring a brick (one for each man) as a tribute at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park. The sponsorship helps support the NFFF's mission to honor America's fallen firefighter heros; support their families, colleagues, and organizations; and work to reduce preventable firefighter death and injury.
I recieved a baseball award in Welles' name for representing the spirit of sportsmanship, leadership, hard work, and team first approach to the game. Welles is known as a leader and saved as many as 12 lives during the September 11 attacks in New York City during which he lost his own life. He frequently wore a red bandana, given to him by his father (who was a firefighter himself). Survivors of 9/11 described Welles by the bandana and that's how his family realized Welles helped them escape. Welles worked in the second tower during 9/11. He was considering a career change to become a firefighter.
My great uncle Frank was a volunteer firefighter in New York. He died in 2014 when I was in my mother's tummy. He was honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial a year after passing for his service in the line of duty. He passed while serving his community and we miss him so much. You can learn more about Great Uncle Frank here at the NFFF's role call webpage:
Each brick costs $175. My goal is to raise $350 - one for each man. If I happen to raise more money, it will be donated to the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.
Thank you for reading about my project.
Brady (10years old).
