Tribes Flo Studio Crowdfunding!

Dear tribe,

Our tribe has been growing and expanding into a beautiful vibrant community in Leiden. We are proud to bring movement lovers together from daily classes, to retreats, to our very own Tribes Academy.

After opening our new location on the Breestraat, it is time to take the next big step and instead of opening more studio locations - we invest in more space, more quality and most importantly the Tribes Vibes we are looking for.

Tribes owner Willemieke has been secretly looking out for a new and bigger place for the adult dancers of Tribes, after taking on the Haagweg studio during the corona pandemic to accommodate all dancers - it is time to spend some TLC on our dance department and realise the long fostered dream to gift a larger, more spacious studio to our dancers. With this bold step we will be moving our dance classes out of Haagweg & Broekplein and into the new Flo Studio! At the same time the new studio will be a place where yoga, dance & movement truly comes together in a beautiful multifunctional space.

At the end of this Summer it magically came together in a project on the Leidse Baan in Leiden - a beautiful two-story building with two amazing owners who were super enthusiastic and supportive for Tribes to make the Floris Versterlaan her new home. They revised their initial plans to create two large studio spaces with toilets, a shower and a kitchen in collaboration with Willemieke.

Construction is well underway now and from the 1st of December the studio will be officially under Tribes' name - on the 6th of January we will open our doors.

BUT! We need your support as this project is one of Tribes' biggest projects so far. We would like to invest in the best quality floors and mirrors for the studio and hope that the prospect of being able to dance, move and yoga there will inspire our Tribe to help us achieve this goal.

If Tribes has proven one thing, it is the principle of Ubuntu. Ubuntu is the African Philosophy “I am because you are, you are because we are". Growing up in Africa, this has always been a main belief of Willemieke and the principle at the heart of Tribes. It is the capacity to offer compassion, reciprocity, respect, humanity and mutuality, fostering our sense of community. Making Tribes a place of belonging.
