Triathlon to raise funds for my amazing sister, Maisie
Donation protected
In May this year, my brilliant and kind sister, Maisie, was involved in a life changing gas explosion in her home. Despite being completely shellshocked in the moments that followed after, Maisie somehow managed to get herself out of her house and call the emergency services. Something I will be forever grateful for. Her fast thinking that day, when every second counted, is testament to the brave and courageous person she is.
Maisie suffered 45% burns that morning, after waking up and starting her day like any other day. She spent the next two weeks in intensive care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, before being moved to the Burns Ward. Despite her injuries, Maisie, being her usual self amazed all the doctors and nurses with her determination and positive mental attitude to get better.
Maisie has had her whole world turned upside down. She has lost her home, her independence and has a long recovery journey ahead of her whilst not being able to work. She continues to amaze us all every single day and I am so incredibly proud of her and how far she’s come already.
In a few weeks I will be doing a triathlon and I am hoping Maisie will be well enough both physically and mentally to be there at the finish line.
I want to raise money for Maisie to use towards her recovery and get herself settled in a new home again. Pretty much everything she owned was ruined in the explosion, she is currently unable to work and we’re looking to provide her with the best treatments available to speed up her recovery in any way.
Any support you can give will mean the world to me, Maisie and our family.
All funds raised will go directly to Maisie.
Thank you so much for your support.
