TRIAD Trust World AIDS Day 2021

Tax deductible
Here we are again. Heading into our 15th year of working alongside partners across South Africa, Haiti, and beyond to make this World AIDS Day the last one.

As we all reflect on another unfathomably challenging year, we are proud of our role in continuing to increase access to education programs and resources aimed to reduce the transmission of HIV, increase access to all sexual and reproductive health services, and improve the lives of those living with it.

2021 was another incredible year for TRIAD and our partners. Ready to be blown away?

• In spite of persistent COVID-related challenges, our ImprovED troupes in Mpumalanga and Haiti continue to reach kids. The troupes adapted safer and innovative methods of engaging with thousands of young people each school term!

• TRIAD's Where to Care initiative is now covering an area that serves more than 60 MILLION INDIVIDUALS! Where to Care is a mobile health platform that enables care providers to send SMS messages to individuals with a link to a free map of all SRH, family planning, and Gender-Based Violence services near them! This is thanks to YOUR past support.

• Our partners and those using Where to Care include amfAR, Fos Feminista (formerly IPPF-Western Hemisphere Region, Center for Health and Gender Equity, and International Women's Health Coalition), Ibis Reproductive Health, TB/HIV Cares, Amnesty International, Section 27, the South Africa National Department of Health, University of Witwatersrand Reproductive Health Institute, and dozens of community based organizations in rural and deep urban areas where access to HIV, SRH, Family Planning, and GBV services are difficult to access.

• A new media partnership with Bhekisisa, the Centre for Health Journalism based in Johannesburg, enabled us to create jobs by funding 8 new full-time members of the Where to Care team through the end of 2021. Bhekisisa also amplifies access to the map through various articles and social media outreach.

This map has been a lifeline for vulnerable individuals throughout the year as COVID has continued to wreak havoc with service availability and social unrest in July temporarily restricted access to many facilities. Living with an abusive partner during lockdowns, not being able to go to your regular clinic to pick up life-sustaining HIV meds, needing a safe, legal provider of family planning or abortions… TRIAD’s Where to Care is updated DAILY to ensure people KNOW WHERE TO GO.

While our platform covers the entire population, we still have a lot of new facilities to add, and we update the map. This is where YOU can help.

Your gift will help us keep our staffing levels in South Africa stable, increase the reach and impact of the Where to Care app and map, and –when safe—not only grow the impact of the current ImprovED troupes, but add NEW ones in 2022.

100% of your donations go to support our programs.

We look forward to sharing more stories of impact, access, and health in 2022.

With gratitude,
The TRIAD Trust team
