To all of our family and friends,
As most of you know, Trey was in a bad motorcycle accident a month ago. He was enjoying a warm Sunday ride when he went over a hill in an unfamiliar canyon that presented him with a sudden wicked S curve which he did not negotiate well at all! After a few hours in a hospital in Loveland, CO, he was life flighted to a trauma center in Denver with internal bleeding and various other serious issues. And wouldn't you know all Trey was concerned with was trying to get a window seat in the chopper so he could see out. After all he's never been in a helicopter before.
A week in the hospital and Trey got to come home! He brought with him 4 broken vertebrae, 2 broken ribs, 1 stapled arm cut, (franken arm!) road rashes, and a forever changed heartbeat. He's a big man and smacked the pavement just that hard. His mama got to be home with him for a week before going back into the hospital for yet, nearly one more week. This time he had an infection, pneumonia, and blood clots in one leg. He learned that he also tore his other knee; his good knee. (Because 3 months ago he had surgery on the bad knee as he ripped all the ligaments out playing basketball!)
Trey is now taking up knitting and is not allowed to leave the house ever again unless he's incased in a full rubber suit! Surgery is unsure at this point as the knee has taken a backseat to all the other more-serious issues.
Sincerely, please know it is very hard to ask for help. Trey has missed a month of work and is just now trying to go back for a few hours a day. He has to get around work in a wheelchair and an old man walker. Thank goodness he does have medical insurance. But even with that, we can only guess how much he will owe. If you can find it in your hearts to offer even a couple dollars, it would truly help. Just empty out your change jar at home or whatever is easy. And don't feel pressured either if you cannot help at this time. We love you all the same and Trey will get through this either way. Please repost if you feel inclined and know that Trey and I are grateful for your love and friendship over the years. Oh yea, and always wear a helmet and buckle up!!!
