With the approval of Trey & Stephanie, I have created this as a way to give back to the family that is ALWAYS giving to others. If you are lucky enough to know Trey and Stephanie Summerford (or any of the Summerfords for that matter) you’d know they are some of the most selfless and caring people ever! I can not count the number of times they have jumped in to help us as their neighbors, when they didn’t have to.

Trey was participating in the Falkville’s tractor parade and I was sitting on that tractor’s fender. Just as the parade had started and mid conversation, the seat Trey was sitting in broke off and he fell backwards. He landed head first onto the pavement. I was able to stop the tractor and call 911. Luckily, paramedics were on scene within just a few minutes.

Update as of 10/20:

Update DAY 9

PT had him up early and sitting in the chair. We then moved him with a Stella Steady, to the bathroom. He attempted to potty but could not, however he did empty out his Friday Night!!!!! We were able to get him a really good shower and he stood a little with the Steady. We got him back in the bed refreshed. Now he is back in the chair for 45 minutes. It’s required he do this daily for the Spain Center. When he transferred to the chair he stood and TOOK ABOUT 4 STEPS with the walker to get there!!!!!

Update as of 10/15:

Update on Trey Day 5

PT had him STANDING ON HIS FEET!!! Praise the Lord. He did so good this morning. He sat and stood twice! He could hold his legs together at the knee when laying down! All that movement wears him out but it is good for him. His sensitivity in his legs is improving each day which is good! We still haven’t been given a release date yet but it is coming soon! Then on to rehabilitation!

Stephanie provided a recent update as of 4pm 10/11/2025: “Many know and some don’t. Trey fell off the tractor in the parade today at the fall festival when the seat broke and he went off backwards. He was medflight to Huntsville. I know everyone is worried and praying for Trey.

He is gonna be alright BUT, his back is fractured in the lower half. Two of the fractures will heal on their own but the other vertebrae is broke and a piece of it is pressing on his spine. He has a skull fracture that will heal on their own.

He is going to surgery in an hour so please be praying for the doctors and nurses. Pray for healing, pray for quick recovery.
