During summer camp, Trey jumped off of an inflatable bounce house into the designated landing mat. In a freak accident, he fell head first onto the concrete 15 feet below.
Within minutes, he was flown to Tampa General Hospital where he was admited to the ICU with two broken bones in his neck, a bruised spinal chord, and other related injuries. He has undergone two surgeries, both of which were as succesful as possible.
He is still in the hospital, but has been transferred out of ICU. As of right now, Trey has not been able to move his legs, but there is hope in many ways.
At this time, we are waiting for the swelling in his body to go down, and will have more info in the coming days. It's a serious injury, but he's showing good signs.
His parents, Doug and Norma Smetana, and his siblings Ludwig and Naylene need our love, prayers and support.
All donations will go towards financial relief for Trey and the Smetana family.
