On June 4, 2020, our son Trey Lax, a student at IUPUI was on his way to work in Fishers, IN, when he was involved in a terrible car crash. Another driver ran a red light at a high speed and t-boned Trey causing his car to roll several times and come to rest on its side. Trey was trapped inside the car and had to be cut out of the vehicle. The driver that ran the red light was treated and released and was uninsured. As for Trey, he broke two vertebrae in his neck and as we write this on 6/21, 17 days later, still remains in the ICU. We were hopeful that he would be in physical rehab therapy by now, but has contracted pneumonia and is on a ventilator.
Trey’s recovery will be long but we are hopeful that the outpouring of support he has received will be motivating in this extremely tough time.
Any funds received will go towards Trey’s recovery and the expenses not covered by his health insurance since there will be nothing coming from the uninsured driver that caused the crash.
We would like to thank our family and friends for all of the love and support that we have already received in what now seems to be only the early stages of a long journey.
