Trey Allen’s fight against cancer

Greetings from Trey’s family. This news is heavy on our hearts but our hope is with the power of prayer and a team of medical professionals Trey will be healed. Trey was recently diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that has metastasized to his liver and lungs, he is in a great deal of pain and struggling emotionally as anyone in this condition would. His liver is being attacked and showing signs of significant low function as he's become very jaundiced. Trey has undergone multiple tests and biopsies over the past two weeks in Wichita and Hutchinson and what we currently understand is the cancer is very aggressive so the fight begins to battle this terrible illness right away. Trey has gone from being an active father, he enjoys golf and fishing with friends, hanging out with his boys/family and a passionate fan of all Kansas State University sports events...to being off work and unable to drive or function normally in a matter of weeks. He will begin receiving chemotherapy this week in Hutchinson, KS as we search high and low for alternative treatments with hope for a cure. Currently, the prognosis is not curable but treatable to extend life. When an oncologist states, "you will die from this and not in 5 years but much sooner" I can't explain to anyone who hasn't gone through this the feeling of despair. It’s heartbreaking to see how fast cancer affects a healthy 45-year-old father of 3 boys and grandfather to a new baby girl. Our specific prayer request at this time is that the chemotherapy will start working immediately to help his liver function improve, for his pain to be lessened and for an alternative treatment to become available to win this fight.
