Hi, my name is Laura Clary and im a foster through the CNY Cat Coalition.

Im looking for help for a foster kitten of mine needing a front limb amputation ASAP so that he can be pain free and live a happy life.

Fairmount (where i work) has openings for surgery as soon as this coming week and i hope more than anything that we can raise enough money by then.

But anyway, ill tell you about Trey now.

Trey is an 14 ish week old adorable, brave, loving and playful kitten who came to me after his left front limb had been severely injured.

While in the vicinity trapping, a rescuer heard Trey’s screams and followed them into a shed. A wooden door had him pinned down by his leg. His mother anxiously paced the area and his brother sat by his side.

Trey was weak, dehydrated and in horrible pain. He had clearly been trapped for some time.

Despite having no prior socialization, Trey quickly became the sweet kitten he is now despite so much of our time together being unpleasant for him due to frequent bandage changes and medications.

Trey was so small and frail at the time and because we were able to manage his pain we decided to give his leg a chance to heal.

We hoped that while his leg wouldnt be totally normal, it would be usable and cause no pain. Trey went from dragging his leg and not moving much to running, playing and bearing weight. Trey would even use his bad leg to bat at one of his foster siblings that annoyed him

Unfortunately, it has become apparent that Trey’s leg will not heal the way we hoped and is only a source of pain now. It has become so awful that i dont want to disturb anyone by showing pictures. It breaks my heart now every time i change his bandage.

And though that all really stinks, Trey is now strong, robust and ready for surgery.

He will recover quickly, adjust amazingly, and go on to live as good a life as any four legged cat AFTER this surgery is done.

But He cannot live like this, no matter how brave, resilient and strong he is.

Trey is a fighter and deserves to move past this.
