Thank you to everyone who helped me!

August 19th, 2020, I lost my home and everything I had. The SCU Complex Fires on Mount Hamilton, Santa Clara, destroyed my families home where my mother and I lived. I worked as my mother's IHSS in home caregiver for the last 5 years after she was injured at the CalTrain SF station. I feel ashamed having to ask for help because I have always tried to do my best taking care of myself, my pets, our home and my mother, and this experience has left me feeling powerless and terrified. This loss is so much more than I can explain. The last few months have helped me reorient myself back towards where I had hoped my life was going. Now it's time for me to move on from the bay area and try to build a life in Southern California.

I am not a famous or successful artist, but I am a good one, and hard working. I have an opportunity to interview with some amazing production companies in LA, and I am hoping one of them will see the worth in me that I know is there.

When the flames were coming for our home, I had to make the hardest decisions of my life about what to take, and what had to be left behind. Everything I have ever created was completely destroyed. Sometimes I have felt like I didn't actually survive the fire. Large chunks of my heart and soul are gone. I've faced being homeless, my lost my job as my mother's caregiver, and felt like I had no hope for my future. That is starting to change now, and I have hope again.

I started this fundraiser to try and help secure somewhere to live and now I will be using the funds to rent an apartment somewhere in LA. Once I get a job, things will start to be like a normal life again.

My original goal was increased to $10k on the advice of friends and family to help pay for my relocation. I am a little over half way there, and now I am packing up my pets and what little we have left, and heading out on a new adventure. My mom has moved back east for a more affordable life, and I am free to begin my search for my place in this world.
