Hi, I'm Sam and I'm running the Chicago Marathon in support of The Trevor Project, an organization dedicated to ending suicide among LGBTQ+ youth.
As a privileged person in the community I’m hoping to help those who feel most lost or abandoned. 41% of LGBTQ+ high school students considered attempting suicide in the past year, compared to 14% of heterosexual peers. The Trump administration has cancelled the national LGBT suicide hotline. Many of us have people close to us who have fell on hard times where the Trevor Project provides critical assistance.
Your donations will have a direct impact on the lives of countless individuals:
- Funding 24/7 crisis intervention services for LGBTQ+ youth who are in distress.
- Providing educational resources and outreach programs that promote acceptance and understanding in schools and communities.
I hope you’ll consider donating. Any amount helps! And feel free to come cheer me on October 12th!
