Hello everyone,
My name is Trevor Gleason, I am 21 years old and live in Columbia, Missouri. I was going about my life, working and living a normal everyday life. Then I felt a lump on my stomach. I went to the doctor, and after several tests, my worst fear came to life- I have cancer.
I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT), which is a very rare and aggressive soft tissue sarcoma. My mom and I travel to the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Chicago, Illinois, every other week. This past Monday, I had surgery to get a port put in the upper part of my chest, which you can see in my picture. I started getting my first round of infusion treatments right after my port was put in. I then had several different chemo treatments. This week I had treatments until early Wednesday morning.
My treatment will alternate every other week with 2 days of chemo, followed by 5 days of chemo in the following 2 weeks. I will have this schedule for the next next year. Then HIPEC surgery after chemo for a year.
The goal is to be cancer free in the next year in a half.
The pictures on the bottom are with my Mom and brother. We have dogs and cats; I love sports and keep up with them all. I have amazing friends and a family supporting me along the way. With the help of all of you, I believe that I will be able to keep up with these expenses so I can continue to get my treatments in order to live!
Thank you in advance for anyone willing to help me financially and pray for me as well.
Thanks again,
Trevor
