Medical expenses for baby TJ
Donation protected
I found it in my heart to set up this GoFundMe for this sweet family because several months ago doctors discovered that their unborn son, Trevor John Jr. (TJ), has a congenital (present at birth) heart disease known as Shone’s complex. This is a rare disease which affects the left half of his heart. His symptoms include a small aortic valve, coarctation of the aortic arch, and a VSD - or hole in the septum of his heart. This will require baby TJ to undergo open-heart surgery in his first week of life, and potentially multiple surgeries in his first year. If the aortic valve does not develop, TJ will need to have a heart transplant. Right now the aorta is smaller than normal, but it seems that it’s growing as he continues to grow in the womb (Praise God). A lot of things remain up in the air until he’s born and the doctors can give a complete diagnosis on what is needed. However, a minimum of one open-heart surgery is required a week after he’s born, and his recovery for this will be several months spent in the hospital in the intensive care unit. On top of the medical expenses that nobody could have expected, Cassie will be out of work for an unforeseen amount of time as she stays by TJ’s side throughout his recovery in the hospital, helping him eat and recover as quickly as possible. This leads me to the reason I have felt lead to set up this GoFundMe for Trevor and Cassie, to help them and baby TJ during this time of need. Please help this sweet family if you can and please share with family and friends, anything helps. Most importantly, please keep baby TJ and the entire family in your thoughts and prayers, and join me in asking God to keep his healing hand over TJ.
