Hello Dear Friends and Family:
I am sharing our story in hopes to raise money for medical treatments for my son, Trevor Adey. Trevor became infected with a rare malignant tumor at the age of 13. These tumors are a rare "Low-Grade Fibromyxoid Sarcoma" (LGFMS). As these tumors are slow growing, their potential threat is not only constricting his breathing capacity, but also intruding on nearby critical organs, such as in Trevor’s case, his heart. These tumors are located in his lungs and chest cavity and are known for reoccurring after they have been surgically removed. Trevor is now 37 years old and has had five lung and chest surgery’s, with two lung recessions on the left side. In the last few years, the tumors have spread into the right lung. The doctors have informed us that they can no longer surgically remove these tumors due to the amount of lung recession required to get a clear margin. We have tried multiple traditional and natural resources and the tumors are still growing.
In 2004, Trevor began immune enhancement therapy in Nevada. These treatments were very expensive and not covered by insurance. Doctors told us that eventually they will continue to grow and spread, and surgery was the only answer. Discouraged by this news, we never returned to follow-up on the immune enhancement treatments, due to the expense and faith in our doctor. Looking back, after the treatments, there was a five-year span where the tumors nearly stopped growing. Because of where we are at this point, we feel our only recourse is to return to the immune enhancement treatments in Nevada. We pray to slow the growth of the tumors down enough to stay clear of his heart and prolong his life until a more permanent solution is found.
Additionally, we have been advised to participate in clinical trials. These trials can last from 12 weeks to a year or longer and are located in various locations throughout the United States. These treatments and clinical trials are not covered by insurance, along with room and board, air flights, car rentals, etc. As we begin the immune treatment and we begin traveling to clinical trials, we fear for the expenses and loss of income they will incur. Therefore, we have set our goal to raise $35,000. We appreciate your prayers, love and support through these challenging times. Debbie Morgan
