Wir sind ein selbstverwaltetes Hausprojekt im Leipziger Osten und wir möchten einen Treppenlift einbauen.

Eine Person die im Haus wohnt, benötigt diesen dringend. Ihr Alltag ist stark eingeschränkt, durch die Barriere kann sie oft das Haus nicht verlassen. Auch die Anteilnahme am täglichen Sozialleben im Haus, das sich über mehrere Etagen erstreckt, ist so enorm erschwert.

Es gibt Personen im Freundeskreis, die uns gerade nicht besuchen kommen können und eine ganze Gruppe Menschen, die wir beim Suchen von neuen MitbewohnerInnen leider ausschließen müssen.

Wir wollen grundsätzlich ein barriereärmeres Haus werden um auch mit mobil eingeschränkten Personen zusammen leben und sein zu können!

Ein Treppenlift bis in den vierten Stock (die gesamte Länge des Treppenhauses) kostet ewa 20.000€. Wir haben - nach Widerspruch - die Zusage der Krankenkasse, 4000 Euro Zuschuss zu bekommen. Da fehlen jetzt also noch ca 16 000 Euro.

Welches Hausprojekt seid ihr denn?

Lieb dass du fragst. Wir sind die Wurze, direkt neben dem Space Hotel auf der Wurzner Straße. 2013 wurde das Haus gekauft und wird zur Zeit von 20 Personen bewohnt - inklusive 6 Kinder.

Unten im Haus befindet sich eine Ladenfläche in der sich Kollektive mietfrei treffen und verschiedene Lebensmittel- Kooperativen ihre Verteilstationen haben.

Kann ich euch das Geld auch leihen?

Na klar!

Wir nehmen auch Direktkredite an: Privatpersonen leihen unserer Haus-GmbH direkt Geld, ohne den Umweg über eine Bank. Die Rückzahlung erfolgt durch die Einnahmen aus der Miete und durch das Annehmen neuer Direktkredite. Wir können gerne einen zweckgebundenen Kredit vereinbaren!

Laufzeit: Ab 1 Jahr

Zinsen: 0 – 2 % frei wählbar

Ich hab gehört die KfW fördert das - warum fragt ihr nicht da?

Dachten wir auch. Die Sächsische Aufbau Bank/ KFW fördert Treppenlifte, die innerhalb des "Wohnbereiches" gebaut werden. Unser Treppenhaus zählt nicht als Wohnbereich, obwohl wir eine Hausgemeinschaft ohne abgeschlossene Wohnungen sind. Daher ist die Förderung durch die KfW leider nicht möglich.

Wem gehört denn eigentlich euer Haus?

Denen die drin wohnen! Das Haus gehört weder einer Privatperson allein, noch einem gewinnorientierten Unternehmen.

Wir sind Teil des deutschlandweiten Mietshäusersyndikats, welches zum Ziel hat, Häuser langfristig vom Immobilienmarkt zu nehmen. Unser Haus erwirtschaft keine Gewinne. Zweck unserer Haus-GmbH ist es, langfristig günstige Mieten zu sichern.

Bekomme ich eine Spendenquittung?

Wir können leider keine Spendenquittung ausstellen, da wir keine gemeinnützige GmbH sind.

Müssen etwa alle gehbehinderten Menschen, die einen Treppenlift brauchen, ein crowdfunding machen?

Ja!

(außer du wohnst im ersten Stock, in einem Einfamilienhaus mit einer geraden Treppe, in der die 4000€ Kassenförderung reichen).

Fazit:

Der Umgang des Gesundheitssystems mit Behinderung und Barrierenabbau ist unerträglich! Entwürdigende Antragsverfahren, Begutachtungen und Bürokratie!

Menschen mit Gehbehinderungen die in einem "normalen" Mietsverhältnis leben, haben die Wahl sich entweder eine neue Wohnung zu suchen, oder einfach nicht mehr das Haus zu verlassen. Wer in einer nicht barrierefreien Mietswohnung wohnt und krank/ behindert wird, hat Pech gehabt. So ableistisch ist es vom deutschen Gesundheitssystem vorgesehen.

Glücklicherweise haben wir als selbstverwaltetes Hausprojekt zumindest die Möglichkeit, Crowdfunding und Direktkredite zu organisieren, so dass es möglich ist, Barrieren im Haus abzubauen – mit eurer Unterstützung!

Hello,

we are a self-organized house project in the eastern part of Leipzig and we would like to install a stair lift.

A person who lives in the house urgently needs it. Their everyday life is severely restricted and they are often unable to leave the house due to the barrier. The stairs also make it extremely difficult for them to take part in daily social life in the house, which extends over several floors.

There are people in our circle of friends who are unable to visit us at the moment and a whole group of people who we unfortunately have to exclude when looking for new flatmates.

We want to become a house with fewer barriers so that we can live and be together with people with limited mobility!

A stair lift up to the fourth floor (the entire length of the stairwell) costs around €20,000. The health insurance company – after initially denying it – have now granted a €4,000 subsidy. So we're still missing around €16,000.

Which house project are you talking about?

Thanks for asking! We are the Wurze, right next to the Space Hotel on Wurzner Straße. The house was bought in 2013 and currently 20 people are living here - including 6 children.

There is an event venue downstairs in the building where collectives meet rent-free and various food co-operatives have their distribution stations.

Can I lend you the money?

Of course!

We also accept direct loans: Private individuals lend money directly to our house's LLC (GmbH) without involving a bank. Repayment is made by using the income from our rent and by accepting new direct loans. We are happy to arrange a loan directly committed to this cause!

Term: 1 year and up

Interest: 0 - 2 % freely selectable

I've heard that KfW subsidises this - why don't you ask them?

We thought so too. The Sächsische Aufbau Bank/ KFW subsidises stairlifts that are built within the "living area". Our stairwell does not count as a living area, although we are a house community without separate flats. Therefore, KfW funding is unfortunately not possible.

Who actually owns your house?

The people who live in it! The house belongs neither to a private individual, nor to a profit-orientated company.

We are part of the Germany-wide Mietshäusersyndikat (rental house syndicate), which aims to take houses off the property market in the long term. Our house does not make a profit. The purpose of our house's LLC (GmbH) is to secure affordable rent in the long term.

Can I get a donation receipt?

Unfortunately, we cannot issue donation receipts as we are not a non-profit organisation.

Do all disabled people who need a stairlift have to do crowdfunding?

Yes!

(Unless you live on the first floor in a single-family house with a straight staircase, so the €4,000 cash subsidy is enough).

Conclusion:

The way the healthcare system deals with disability and barrier reduction is unbearable! Degrading application procedures, assessments and bureaucracy!

People with walking disabilities who live in a "normal" tenancy have the choice of either looking for a new flat or simply not leaving the house. Anyone who lives in a non-accessible rented flat and becomes ill/disabled is out of luck. That's how ableist the German healthcare system is.

Fortunately, as a self-organized house project, we at least have the opportunity to organise crowdfunding and direct loans so that it is possible to remove barriers in the house – with your support!
