Moving our family into our own Home

We're the Trents. We've live in Oklahoma and Texas over the last 20 years, the last 4 in Dallas. We moved to Dallas to pursue income when the economy crashed. Forced to give up our house in Oklahoma and take a rental . Braving the housing situation in Dallas we ended up with this little house in Mesquite.
It has served well enough but has issues. A foundation cracked in two places, questionable electric, dangerous tree limbs, and old appliances. We never planned to stay in this house but the housing market is really rough for renters in this area, it takes months to find a unit for rent and prices have steadily increased over the years by 100 or more in monthly rent.
Our landlord is a less desirable management company that makes repairs at their leasure and refuses to replace the appliance two of which are now failing. Due to the increases in the local market our landlord belives they can charge 1100-1200 a month for this unit which will really strain our working class budget. For that kind of money we really should be buying something and something nice. The landlord now has moved us to a month to month lease and informed us that once he finds a renter with more money we'll be on thirty day notice to move out. The writing is on the wall, even though it's terrible timing and we haven't saved up for a move or a new property, it's time to go.
Our relatives in Willis, TX (north of Houston) have informed us that there's great plots for a house in their area at absolutely great list prices. So Jim headed down there and found this lovely house lot with just an RV sitting on it next to Lake Conroe. Big enough for a house and then some. Already prepped to build with electric, sewage, and water lines installed and a two car wide drive. The current resident is a senior aged woman who needs to move closer to family and her doctors.
The idea of not only getting great property for us to put a house on but also helping a nice little old lady improve her quality of life makes this a double win for us.
After findng the property we have also found a nice builder willing to finances a refurbished home for the property allowing us to buy a home and work space for less than we are paying now in rent. It's great chance for the girls to be close to family especially their grandparents.The only obstacle is raising the cash to make the down payment and cover the closing costs.
Many of our friends and family have encouraged us to make this move and wish to support us with the start up capitol to get this moving and have some security against rapid displacement due to our current circumstances. This gofundme project gives us a central hub to collect gifts to the project and allow our friends to pass the word.
