Trenton’s emergency funds

10/26/2023 update

Trenton has been moved to another local hospital in preparation for hip surgery. After better observation it has been found that both of his hips are broken. Unfortunately pain medication makes him immediately vomit so he is getting no relief. He will have a very long recovery which hasn’t even yet begun. Jamie has been by his side day and night and it doesn’t look like that is going to change very soon. The financial burden they will face due to a drunk driver is unreal. Nobody should ever have to go through something like this. Please keep my dear friends in your prayers.

Trenton is the son of my closest friend Jamie Thibodeaux and Chris Davidson.

Trenton was involved in a hit and run auto pedestrian accident Saturday night while walking home from the corner store in Santa Fe, Texas. He had big plans that included leaving for school Wednesday to begin his studies in Information Technology. Unfortunately his educational journey as well as life as he’s known it has been put on hold due to a drunk driver getting behind the wheel. A grown man drank too much, then got in his truck where just a very few feet from his driveway he not only hit Trenton with his vehicle he was then drug several feet. He did not stop, he just kept going. Trenton did not deserve this. He is one of the most caring people I know. He is a friend to everyone he meets. He is in ICU with 0% kidney function, a broken ankle and hip, numerous lacerations and sooo much pain. Once his body has some time to heal he will require a kidney transplant as well as extensive rehab. Luckily some of the neighbors stayed with Trenton until EMS arrived. There was some quality video of the incident from neighboring homes, so the police were able to identify the suspect and arrest him very quickly. The driver was also charged with domestic violence in a separate incident, the same night. I won’t get on my soap box, but that says a lot about his character. Please pray for Trenton!

Trenton will need a supplies for home when he’s released. He will be in a wheelchair for at least 8 weeks. Jamie is spending 24x7 at the hospital. Please know that all donations are appreciated and will help this family so much with the long road to recovery.
