Hi my name is Ashley, and I am reaching out to ask for help raising money for Trent Sanders. On February 1, 2024 He was involved in a very serious skydiving accident in Phoenix, Arizona. Anyone who has had the privilege of meeting Trent knows how passionate his is about skydiving and his career. He is such a kindhearted person and an incredible friend.
Trent has extensive injuries to his pelvis, Iliac artery, and spine.
He shattered his pelvis and broke his lower back. Trent was in the ICU for five days and the hospital for two weeks. He had three surgeries. His first surgery was to repair his pelvic fracture and install metal plates and screws to keep his pelvis in place. A few hours following his first surgery Trent began to suffer from compartment syndrome in his abdomen. This is a serious condition caused by increased pressure and swelling which prevents organs from working properly. Trent went into respiratory distress leading to cardiac distress and was rushed into emergency surgery. They had to open his abdomen to create more space for his organs. They had to leave Trent's abdomen open for a few days and he was placed in a medically induced coma. Trent's third surgery was to close his abdomen.
His estimated recovery time is 6 to 9 months. He will be in intensive physical therapy to help improve the way he walks and strengthen the muscles around his pelvis. Trent is expected to make a full recovery, but it will be long road. He is unable to work during his recovery process.
With the loss of income, medical bills, living expenses, and loss of work due to Trent's tragic accident, any amount you choose to donate will help tremendously. Thank you for taking the time to read this!
