COME ON NORTHLAND, WE NEED YOUR HELP:
You may know Trent, or you may not. You may know his family, you may not. But if you have a beating heart, you can can most likely relate to this story in a very real way.
Trent, a Staley High School grad going to school far away at Florida Tech majoring in Mathematics, started having headaches in March. He toughed it out for a while, sleeping a lot and not really acting himself--only admitting when probed by Mom (all moms can relate) to dizziness and headaches.
Being an 18 year old (legal adult) in the midst of COVID, Trent found out on June 29th at 3pm that he had a brain tumor on his brain stem, and he was referred to Children's Mercy for further workup. Trent had surgery on July 6th to remove the tumor, and ten days later he and his family were officially told that he had brain cancer. A Grade 2 tumor called a Diffuse Astrocytoma.
After a lot of deliberation over treatment options, Trent is currently doing chemo seven days a week and radiation five days a week. As of the posting of this go-fund me, Trent is in the thick of his treatment. Every. Single. Day.
Chemo. Radiation. Linear Algebra. Ancient to Medieval Philosophy. No big deal.
So I'm here as part of the Falcon Family, as a neighbor and a friend. Even if you don't know Trent or his sister Eva, his mom Meribeth, or his dad TJ, they are part of our Northland village. Here's your chance to step up and set up a FUTURE FUND for Trent.
Because he's going to beat this thing. This is a bump in the road that isn't going to slow him down.
Please help me in showing Trent some Northland Love. Prayers, good vibes, hugs, and COLD HARD CASH is the current prescription.
Love and healthy days to all of us,
Just another neighbor
