Many of you know Trendi Phillips (Moss). She was such a beautiful bright soul full of life, laughter, and compassion. Anyone that met her became her fast friend, and to know her was to love her. Most importantly was her love for her 12 year old son Kai. Her dedication to give him the best life possible was unwavering. Even in the depths of treatment, with chemo bag attached, she didn't stop. She still got up each and every morning to get Kai to school, sports practices, and games. He was her world.
Monday, March 15, 2021 was a day we never imagined would come. We had to say goodbye to our beautiful Trendi, a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend, as she went to be with the Lord. She had displayed such courage and strength during her 5 years battling a rare form of colorectal cancer that metastasized into her liver. She had endured pain, tears, surgery, financial struggle, job loss, and health struggles. Even throughout, she still kept moving forward for the sake of her son.
Just as everyone loves Trendi, we all love her son Kai equally, and we want the best for him always! In her last moments, all Trendi cared about was making sure her son would be okay. Some of her last words were to please watch over Kai. So we promised her that Kai would be taken care of and she was able to rest peacefully.
We want to fulfill our promise to Trendi. Since so many have reached out wanting to help, we decided to start this fundraiser and give all the money raised directly to Kai's future. There are a lot of good people out there and Trendi was one of the BEST!
