Trena Haney's Family Needs Your Support

From Dwan Bridget:
It is with extreme sadness that I announce the passing of my mother, Trena Haney on May 6, 2025. There are no words to express how much she will be missed. Rest in peace Mom. I am so grateful for the time I had with her, and that I was able to be her caregiver. However, I am now faced with the financial burden of medical expenses and mortgage payments that accumulated during her illness.
In February 2023, Trena was given the diagnosis of Mucosal Melanoma. One month later, she was told that without "conventional" treatment she would live 6-12 months at best. She chose to go the non-traditional way and had no chemo, radiation or immunotherapy and lived 27 months. In January of this year, she required surgery for what was thought to be a backed-up tear duct but turned out to be an actual tumor. The doctor was unable to remove it as it was too close to her eye. In late February she was hospitalized in critical care. The scans showed that the cancer had spread to her liver, spleen, right lung and all her bones. She came home on hospice care and suffered with extreme pain until her passing. She was at peace with her choices, was not afraid of death but also was not ready to go.
During her illness, Trena experienced the devastating loss of her beloved husband Will. Will was diagnosed with lung cancer in late 2023 and passed in October of 2024. In addition to losing Will, Trena was now faced with living on one income and got behind on mortgage payments. We are currently struggling to cover her outstanding medical bills and mortgage payments.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated and ease the financial burden during this challenging time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support. Please share this fundraiser with others who may not have seen it.
