On 9th October, I will embark on a three week expedition where I will attempt to summit Mera Peak, one the highest trekking peaks in the world in order to raise much needed awareness for pancreatic cancer.
A bit about pancreatic cancer
As some of you may be aware, pancreatic cancer is the deadliest common cancer in the UK, with average survival sitting at a shocking 3 months. With most people being diagnosed at stage 3 or 4, it is therefore incredibly difficult and rare for those diagnosed to undergo life saving treatment.
However, through your donations, we can help fund research into life-saving early detection tools and better treatment options to give those diagnosed with pancreatic cancer the chance they deserve.
Therefore any contributions to the charity will really mean a lot to me and to the amazing work being done at Pancreatic Cancer UK.

A bit about the challenge…
Mera Peak sits at 6476m and with less than half of your regular oxygen levels, it will be by far my most difficult climb yet.
Over the three weeks, I will be flying into the world’s most dangerous airport, Lukla, where I will then attempt to navigate through the harshest of environments and an extreme lack of oxygen to the summit of Mera Peak, one of the highest trekkable mountains in the world,
Having said that… I only started hiking three years ago, where my love for the mountains began when I climbed Cadair Idris with my best friends in North Wales.
From then onwards, I have climbed the UK’s three peaks and then throughout the Swiss Alps. My most recent summit was in the Atlas Mountains, where I summited the highest mountain in North Africa, Mount Toubkal (4200m) over two days and is currently the highest I have hiked.
