Trekking for Lexi-Gem
Donation protected
For many months now I have had a personal goal to walk the Kokoda Track, so this year I’ve decided to do it to mark my 40th birthday. I’ll be leaving Melbourne on the 6th August bound for Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. From there I will take on one of the most physically, mentally and spiritually demanding treks on the planet, walking the 96 kilometres from Owers Corner to Kokoda. This challenge has now become an opportunity to give back. With my good friend Mel now joining me on the trip we aim to raise funds for our friends daughter Lexi Gem who was born with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy.

Cerebral Palsy effects people in different ways, some people experience minor motor skill problems whilst other might be totally physically dependant. The treatment that Lexi has already received has brought her on in leaps and bounds. She is now able to hold onto objects, use a straw to drink from and say at least 10 letters of the alphabet which is why it’s so important to have funds available to continue Lexis treatments.
There is little government funding or financial assistance available in Australia which is why I have set up this page as a centre for family and friends to assist at whatever level feels right for them. Our goal is to get as many people as we can to donate just $20 to help fund Lexis ongoing therapies and treatments.
