100% of all proceeds will be donated to charity. My name is Madeline Foster and I am 17 years old, and my father and I created Trek for Autism. When I was six and my younger brother was three years old, he was diagnosed with Autism. Ever since that day, my family has worked tirelessly to provide for my brother, and we are thankful to have the ability to help him conquer his disability. However, many children born with special needs, especially Autism, do not have a support network that we are lucky enough to provide Johnny with. Many have an extremely hard time finding jobs and becoming accustomed to a "typical" lifestyle, and are in a great need for assistance. In our town, Pleasanton, CA, Sunflower Hill is a community where adults with special needs have a community in which to live and socialize while being able to hold down a job and be a part of the community. The money raised by Trek for Autism will be donated to Sunflower Hill -to help build a community for people with special needs- and Autism Speaks, an organization that provides donations to ground-breaking Autism research facilities.
