TREEGIRL by MEGHAN HUBLEY
A palliative care nurse reluctantly befriends the son of a former patient, whose ghost haunts her during her stay in the branches of a yew tree.
TreeGirl is Forerunner Playwrights' Theatre's newest production, being presented at the Stages festival this year. This play is 7 years in the making. We at Forerunner are excited to bring this poignant, lyrical exploration of dynamic relationships, the power of choice, and the buoyancy of depression to Halifax audiences.
We have an amazing group of people lined up to bring TreeGirl from the page to the stage.
Artistic Team:
Directed by Margaret Legere. Stage Managed by Tessa Pekeles. Staring Keelin Jack, Martha Irving and Zach Faye. Set Design by Garrett Barker. Lighting Design by Vicky Williams. Costume Design by Cathleen McCormack. Sound Design by Stewart Legere.
All funds raised will go toward rehearsal space, materials, and paying our artistic team.
TreeGirl is a passion project. Forerunner Playwrights' Theatre commissioned Meghan Hubley to write this play in 2010. After many workshops and through the incredible support and talent of our artistic team, we are thrilled to bring this play to life.
We appreciate your support in making this dream come true!
"It's not as scary up here in the tree."
