Treecovery Ireland are a volunteer led campaign raising funds to plant 5000 hectares of native Irish provenance trees, meaning Irish trees grown from Irish seed. Trees and hedgerows in our communities create resilience, prevent floods, drought, and improve soil quality.
When we receive our first 10,000 euros, we will be able to provide between three and five thousand native provenance trees to suitable lands in local communities.
Native trees are particularly needed because only 2% of Ireland's trees are native, and native trees support more biodiversity, a greater variety of plants and animals benefit from native compared to non native trees.

You can help to support Treecovery Ireland either by offering suitable land in Ireland to plant trees, contributing to our social media forums, or by donating here. The donated money will go entirely towards the use of buying as many trees as possible. Treecovery Ireland will give them to landowners and communities who are willing to plant and look after them.
