Treatment & Healing for Our Mom
Donation protected
Jennifer Veinott, a mother of 9 children, a wife to Cliff Veinott, a friend of too many to count, and one of the most resilient women God has placed on this earth. This past year, my mom was diagnosed with a neurological disorder after a year of doctors searching for answers. This diagnosis has been a huge learning leap for our family. If you personally know my mom, you’ve had the privilege of experiencing joy, laughter, and a genuine deep friendship. Jenn has a heart that encourages and uplifts anyone who she comes in contact with through her empathetic words and her smile. Today, her disorder has impacted her ability to leave her home, have conversations with family and friends, care for herself, complete daily activities, and has created countless trips to the emergency room, doctors, and specialists here in Maine and Boston. Her neurological disorder impacts the way her brain and body communicate, walking, vision, sensory, cognition, speech, memory, gait and balance, tics, tremors, neuropathy, muscle spasms, pain, and causes seizures. On “better” days, she still does try to do as much as she can for herself, her family, household, and friends. Through prayer and her faith that God can do anything, holistic medicine, and the wisdom of numerous doctors, we believe her body and brain can be restored. There is currently no “cure” for her disorder; however, there are treatments to help with gaining function and mobility back. We have finally found an intensive program in California that has had great results. My mom had her first consultation with them recently, and they feel she would be a good fit for the program and that they can help her. It would be a difficult trip for my mom in so many ways but very promising to help her get her life back to some sense of normalcy. Hearing about this program has given our family so much hope for her recovery to help her go into remission. Please join us in raising funds for Jenn to attend the Re+Active Rehabilitation Program, recommended by her neurological team at Mass General in Boston, to not only control her symptoms but through therapy and treatment to help heal the cells in her brain and body, building stronger neurological connections. Former patients of this program, who have shared their stories of healing and regaining neurological functioning today, bring us endless hope for my mom. The cost of the program, travel, and lodging expenses while attending the 4+ week program seems overwhelming as she hasn’t been able to work consistently since being hospitalized in October of 2023. My mom is a very private person and does not ask for help often; she is a woman who goes to high measures to help those around her, though. Any giving amount will help, and our gratitude cannot be expressed in words. We are so very grateful for the numerous friends that have helped with getting her to her appointments, making meals, taking time out of their busy lives to visit her, and all the people who have been praying. We ask if you are reading this today, please say a prayer for my mom.
