As a Cancer Survivor, those who know me, know how I advocate for Cancer patients. It's a mission I take pride in. They also know I am not into fundraisers, but this is terribly urgent. My friend, Ted Sult, is in the midst of cancer treatment. He has been in treatment since May, and everything has been going well! Success story, right? Well, Cancer medication is no joke.....and to continue going in the right direction, he needs some help....Zytiga runs 11,000-12,000 $ for a 30 day supply. Medicare covers some, but there is still a 25% copay. Even with some research, the medication minimum I can find is 600$ a month. This is a cause we can get behind, his story is our story.....Ted started working on a farm when he was 12, and working in restaurants at 15. Hard work paid off, and he became a general manager/district manager for several years. When he decided to branch out on his own, taking his retirement from the restaurants and investing in his own place, one of which was the Glen Rock Mill Inn. Ted worked 70-80 hours a week to provide for his family, including sleeping in the restaurant at times. Restaurants being what they are, he ended up selling and became Head Custodian at Ore Valley, where he was adored and appreciated by staff and children alike. Unfortunately, due to his cancer diagnosis, he was forced to retire. And as happens with cancer patients, unable to maintain his insurance from his work. Over the years I have been family-by-choice with Ted and his wife, Sue, and his children, I've seen Ted over and over help out people in need. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone out, but would never ask for help himself. And yes, he knows I am putting this together.....tells you how serious this situation is. Cancer patients should NOT have to focus on paying for medications, they should focus on their wellness. I am asking humbly for help for this man and his family......God Bless you!
