Cancer treatment for Rambo

⭐️Updates⭐️

• Rambo saw a specialist oncologist on Thursday, November 6 for a CT scan and blood test.

• His blood test is good! It only showed anaemia from the blood dripping off his face.

• The CT scan suggests that there is no obvious spread of the cancer throughout his body at this stage, it’s just eating up his face for now.

• The tumour is about to spread into his eye, so he may lose his eye depending on when we can start his radiation therapy.

• MOST RECENT! We have started Rambo's treatment, completely because of all the donators. We can't yet afford to finish his treatment, but we will keep fundraising, and I think if this keeps going, we might be able to save him ❤️

Please help Rambo, Sweet 15-Year-Old Orphan Street Cat, Get a Second Chance!

We found Rambo wandering alone in Lakemba, after locals called for help after being worried at the state of his face. When we found him, it was heartbreaking. A gentle, affectionate 15-year-old boy whose face was consumed by an extremely large Squamous Cell Carcinoma tumour.

Despite the pain he must have been in, Rambo purred and leaned into every touch, desperate for the affection he’d been missing for years :(

We tried to find his owners, hoping he had someone waiting for him. But every number registered to his microchip was disconnected. The last person we reached said they’d had the number for 5 years, and never owned a cat.

Our hearts sunk. It looks like Rambo’s original owner was an elderly pensioner who passed away years ago, leaving him suddenly alone, locked out of his home, forced to survive on the streets for what could have been 5 - 10 years.

During that time, no one came for him ☹

But we are here now, and we want to make up for that lost time.

Rambo is now safe with me ❤️ He’s eating well, cuddly, affectionate, and finally sleeping with a full belly — likely for the first time in years. He’s allowed to bleed on my carpet as much as he wants!

Our first vet recommended only painkillers and palliative care. We didn’t want to give up.

After a second and third opinion, we now have great hope: with radiation therapy, Rambo could live years longer, pain-free, and comfortable.

The only obstacle remaining is the immense cost.

Treatment, scans, medications, and follow-up care will total between $12,000 and $14,000 — far beyond what we can manage alone.

✨ This is our plea for Rambo.

He has suffered alone for so long. We want him to feel safe, loved, and pain-free for whatever time he has left, and we would like to turn that time into several years – which would be an amazing achievement for an already senior cat!

Every dollar donated will go directly to his treatment and comfort care. I will upload whatever receipts I can fit onto the media of this page, and happy to email anyone the detailed breakdowns!

Even the smallest contribution will help give this gentle old soul the second chance he’s fought so hard for.

If you can’t donate, please share Rambo’s story. The more people who see him, the better chance he has.

After everything he’s endured, Rambo is so full of love. I’m sad that he hasn’t had anyone to share it with for all those years that he’s been unowned, and trapped in survival mode. We want to finally give all of that love that back to him ❤️

* He is being treated by One Pet Cancer Care at both North Shore Vet Hospital as well as their Concord radiation clinic *
