My name is Vivian, I made this gofundme because I am in desperate need to begin hyperbaric oxygen treatment. This has been an extremely frustrating time for me, from being diagnosed with Vulvar Cancer in 2020, undergoing Radiation and Chemo in 2021, and finally a Colostomy in 2022 due to the ulcers in my rectum, a side effect of the radiation treatment. My doctors have informed me that the only way to heal my wounds is to receive this treatment, but unfortunately, my health insurance will not cover it as it is not “medically necessary.”

I can’t work. I am unable to sit at the dinner table with my family. I cannot sit on the couch and watch TV. I can’t get in the car and drive to the grocery store. I am confined to the four walls making up my bedroom and the bed, my prison. My best friend on long car rides to appointments is a pillow, to rest my head as I lay in the front seat.

I am not one to ask for help, My mentality has always been “if you want something done right, get it done yourself.” Unfortunately I find myself needing everyone’s help in every aspect of my life, including now.
