Treatment for FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)
Donation protected
Hi All,
On July 2nd I was in Turkey when I came across this extremely underweight cat. He was collapsing everywhere and was so weak. I was on my way to get a tattoo however I could not walk away from him. I decided that he needed a Vet ASAP. By chance, we found a Vet a couple of doors down and told the nurse to please come and check this cat as he looked like he only had a couple of days to live. He came outside and was shocked to see the state the cat was in. You could feel his spine protruding. The nurse took the cat in and said he needs urgent treatment as we thought he might of had Leukaemia as the shop had said he was eating.
While we did a check up on the table we also saw that he had a infected tooth which could have been the reason why. The vet said he needs his tooth extracted and tests. We paid for the treatment and we flew home the next day. A lovely lady called Ozlem has taken the cat on for now and has been helping with his recovery. He has been going through 1 Recovery food from Hills every day.
He has been diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) - a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus, if not treated this little cat will not survive and will suffer. Between myself and Ozlem so far we have paid for his tooth extraction, blood tests and recovery Hills food.
We urgently ask for your help please on raising money for his treatment at the Green Clinic in Marmaris where we originally took him. That is for Hemogram, Biochemistry and FIP test. He is such a sweet little cat I cannot give up on him. He needs our help and he knows we are here to help him. I truly believe we crossed paths for a reason.
Once he is fully treated we can find him a loving home which he deserves instead of being on the streets.
I know £145 does not sound a lot, however for us who have already been paying for his treatment from the start it would be great to have a little support. Once he has this treatment done then myself will go back to paying for the rest until he finds his home.
