Treatment costs for Maki & Babsi

Hi my name is Sophie and i am funding for my two babies who are both suffering from high bloodpressure. It made Babsi blind and a tumor-like melanoma on Makis iris is also impairing her vision more and more.

My dad and I got Babsi & Maki from a private previous owner. He was sketchy when we came to visit them, so we couldn’t find it in our heart to leave them with him.

Babsi was a bit staggery from the beginning and Maki was a very playful cat. Both love to cuddle and any kind of attention.

Over time we’ve noticed that their vision started to impair because they were bumping into anything, jumped onto the sofa too early or couldn’t really see the toy while playing and eventually stopped to play.

We got concerned so we brought them to the animal clinic where they got checked.

The doctor told us that their blood pressure is way above average and that affects all of their organs badly. Because of this, Babsi’s retina detached from her eye, which made her blind. The same is happening to Maki but with her it’s still in the early stages.

On Top of that Maki got a tumor-like melanoma on her iris, which looks like a pigment disturbance, from what we thought was just a beautiful feature of hers.

To stop the melanoma from spreading further into her body, it would require to take out her eye… which will costs around 1500CHF.

Babsi also has a thyroid hyperfunction, which also affects all of her organs badly.

Because of that she will get her heart checked by a specialist next week.

Babsi is currently on medication for her hyperthyroidism and both are on medication for their bloodpressure.

The first visit at the animal clinic costs us 464 CHF for maki and 840 CHF for Babsi.

Today was Babsi’s second visit, where we got the thyroid medication for her.

We also got the news that her blood pressure isn’t stable yet, which will require more medication for her.

Further hospital visits to specialists are still to come.

We really hope this therapy is going to help them the best it can. They both bring so much happiness and love into our lives.

My dad and I are doing everything we can to cover the bills but it’s just so expensive.
