Hello, my name is Raquel, and I am reaching out for support for my mom.

We live in Peru, where access to timely and specialized medical care can be very limited. My mom has been fighting cancer for many years. She was first diagnosed over 25 years ago, and then again 3 years ago, when she had to undergo a mastectomy after battling breast cancer.

Recently, our lives changed again. After a very difficult moment in the emergency room, where she suffered two seizures, doctors discovered that the cancer has metastasized to her brain and lungs.

My mom is a woman of deep faith and incredible strength. She raised my younger sister on her own after her partner passed away when my sister was just a baby. Despite so many challenges, she has remained strong and has always been our source of love and care.

As her oldest daughter, I am doing everything I can to support her. However, we have limited income, and the cost of urgent treatments is beyond our reach. In our country, Peru, public healthcare can take too long, and she needs to begin radiation as soon as possible. At the moment, she is being managed with medication, but this is only temporary, and prolonged use of corticosteroids is already starting to affect her health.
