Hi there! My name is Emily and I’ve been diagnosed with POTS, hEDS, heart failure and more for 3years. I’ve been working hard on maintaining the treatment plans I’ve been given to better my health so I can get back to making art and doing what I love. However my disability has worsened over time due to a number of reasons beyond my control. Around March I had my first and only case of Covid-19, which left me with long Covid due to my preexisting conditions. The symptoms and physical and emotional strain I had from the experience as well as breaking two toes not long after (preventing me from being able to do my usual workouts and treatments) and then going on a long road trip from TX to WI for my grandmother’s funeral…all this combined effected my heart and lung function, which was improved to 68% since my treatment began 3 years ago at 42%. (The normal person functions at 75-100%). Now since getting long Covid and the other conditions preventing my treatment I’m now down to 47% heart and lung function, which is almost as low and when I started and will continue to get worse without treatment. My doctors and I am trying our best to get my health back up, as of this point I’m too disabled to work and can’t even draw for fun anymore. We have treatment options that are promising for major improvement, however they cost thousands of dollars we don’t have. My parents are struggling to keep paying the bills for our home let alone my medical bills, but I also really don’t want to keep getting worse to the point of near death and constant misery. I’m stuck and have no way out other than to ask for help. Please help me and my family pay for the treatment so I can get back on track and help out. Anything helps. Please.
