Hello, my name is Ava. I recently spent a month in Sri Lanka volunteering with The Mighty Roar on their Street Dog Rescue programme, and it was an incredibly fulfilling experience. I loved being hands-on with the sanctuary dogs, from preparing their food, administering their medication, and caring for them each morning, to then heading out on a tuk-tuk at lunchtime to bring food to the street dogs around the village. The work was emotionally challenging at times, but the joy of seeing the dogs recover and thrive made every moment worthwhile.

I would love to raise some funds to support the amazing dogs I met during my time there and help continue the incredible work of The Mighty Roar.

To do this, I'm planning to run a half-marathon in London on the 15th of February 2026 with RunUk and any donation or sponsorship, big or small, would make a huge difference in helping these dogs get the care they need.
