Help Traycie on her breast cancer fighting journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Nathan Strength I’m starting this fundraising to help my fiancé Traycie Cooper as she is battling breast cancer!
Last July she was doing a self exam when she found a lump in her left breast. She was unable to get in to the mammogram place till Dec 6, we phoned our family doctor and she was only able to get an appointment on Aug 15. The doctor didn’t think it was of concern and could just be a cyst but would send for a mammogram & ultrasound at the hospital. After several tests & biopsy it was finally confirmed on September 29th 6 days after I proposed to her that she had a malignant tumour as well as a benign cyst in her left breast. Her world fell apart & everything came to a halt including our wedding.
The next several months she had to get more tests done, hydramarks & guide wires placed in for her surgery, along with radioactive dye to see if the cancer spread. During this time she also sustained a car accident that left her with soft tissue damage & unable to work. When she was finally able to go back to work her surgery was scheduled for January 9th where they removed a 3.4cm Invasive lobular ductal carcinoma tumour & 2 lymph nodes. She then had to take the next 4-6 weeks off work to recover. On Feb 22 she met with her Oncologist where she learned that her cancer is HER2- but ERPR+ Stage 2-3 & a Grade 2. DCIS still remain with only a 30% another surgery will remove it. So she needs to start Chemo right away. On February 27 she started her first of 8 chemo treatments. The first 4 rounds she will be getting Doxorubicin Hydrochloride aka Red devil drug, and Cyclophosphamide the next 4 treatments she will be getting Packitaxel aka Taxol. After Chemo is done sometime in June she is scheduled to go for Radiation but she hasn't been given a timeline or date when that is to start.
We are asking for your help due to the fact Traycie is a self employed housecleaner, she doesn’t have any disability benefits nor does she qualify for any help from the government. She lives pay check to pay check with no savings as she used it to help buy our house 2 years ago. She is unable to work due now to the chemo drugs as she is fatigued all the time, nauseous, bone & joint pain, peripheral neuropathy is starting, along with mouth & tongue sores. She thankfully has medication to help with all the symptoms. I would like her to stay home and rest & concentrate on her healing in fighting this battle as she has a long road ahead of her.
So if you find it in your heart to give that would be greatly appreciated as I unfortunately don't make enough to support us both. I am doing what I can but it's not enough.
Much love to all that have shown so much love & support to her already. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! God bless you all!
