July 2022 our life was forever changed. I don’t know where this road will take us but I do know that Travis is a fighter. He has an army of family and friends supporting him and will do whatever it takes to kick this! No matter what, he’s got this! Travis was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the blood. It’s in Stage 4. He has 2 masses in his right thigh, Iliac and Lingual lymph nodes, Lumbar and Thoracic spinal muscles, Chest wall and upper back. He had his port placed 7/19 with chemo started 7/20. He can tell his body Is sick. He doesn’t have much energy, and his strength is declining, but he is a fighter. Travis is now on round 4 of chemotherapy in Spokane WA. Travis is tough beyond measure both physically and mentally. It’s hard to put into words how strong he truly is. He still has not complained once. He is constantly in pain but he won’t ever say it. His energy levels have diminished significantly, he’s constantly tired and having to take naps but he still gets up everyday and works in some form, whether it’s on the job or from his phone, he’s still running his company. Selina (girlfriend) trying her best to keep his weight on him. He has lost some weight but overall is doing good. His hair is gone but thank goodness he looks good bald! His oncologist is happy with how Trav’s doing and says his labs look good. His white blood cell count is within normal range, he’s not anemic and his bone marrow is recovering and responding well to treatment. We can see with our own eyes that the chemo is working. The massive tumor in his leg has gotten smaller. Round 4 of chemo was 9/21 half way done! He will receive the PET now to determine the size of his tumors and how they are reacting to treatment. His last day of treatment will be the 4th of January. At that point in this journey, He will start radiation daily for 30 minutes. He will continue that process for 4-5 weeks.
We will beat this together, we will win, and come out stronger.
Some words to consider as you finish reading Travis’s story to remind everyone life gets hard, things get thrown at us we don’t think will ever happen to us. We become better because of it. You stop to soak in the good. Enjoy our families a little more, hug a little longer and be thankful
for each day.
Cancer changes people, it sculpts us into someone that understands more deeply, hurts more often, appreciates more quickly, cries more easily, hopes more desperately, loves more openly, and loves more passionately.
Never give up Travis Blake, we are right here with you.
As we all know, funds get depleted during journeys like this. It takes a village, Please donate if you can.
Much love to all that can help
