Hello friends,

My name is Arial Mendoza and this is an aspect of my life that I hardly share with people.

In 2006, my dad was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, microscopic (in his lymph node system) at the age of 36 and was given a 30% survival rate with an average life expectancy of 5 years. Amazingly, it is now 9 years later and my dad is still kicking butt.

However, it has not been an easy or normal fight. Although his colon cancer is thankfully gone at them moment, his cancer has moved and set up camp in his lungs.

Last year, the doctors found a tumor in each of his lungs. He had the tumor in the left lung taken care of, but his right tumor has become active and is becoming more aggressive. After this most recent tumor procedure, the doctors have discussed the necessity of having the tumor removed while his caner levels are low.

Here's where I ask for your help. My dad is the sole provider for his family (the display picture) and the cost of the surgery has become further out of reach after the other procedures.

For full disclosure, I am the eldest, then my brother, Alex, and our younger siblings (pictured) Abigail, 7, and Max, 1.

My family has been extremely fortunate with my dad beating the time limit he was initially and two younger siblings who make you believe in the good, regardless of the bad we are faced with.

My dad plans to travel to Manila soon to remove the tumor before it really decides to get nuts. Regardless of your donations, I want to thank you for taking the time to read my story.
