Travis Baillie - Road to Recovery

Travis Baillie was involved in an horrific accident this past June and was severely injured, tragically losing his lower left leg, below the knee. Due to this event, Travis has been undergoing Healthcare provided rehabilitation to learn how to physically cope on a day to day basis with his temporary prosthetic.
Although life is going to be different for Travis, his bold positive and inspiring attitude has allowed him to progress dramatically. His friends and family are all so grateful that we didn’t lose Travis that horrific day and in an attempt to make life a little bit easier for Travis, his friends and family have created this GoFundMe campaign in hopes of raising enough support that his road to recovery will be one travelled with as much comfort and ease as possible.
Its a mostly unknown fact, that the first 6 months after any traumatic injury, are the most crucial months for healing and rehabilitation. During these months, your body fights the hardest to repair itself. Intensive and regular rehabilitation is instrumental during this time. However, due to the strains on public healthcare and our healthcare professionals, those suffering and healing from trauma are all to often not able to get the ideal amount of rehabilitation, drastically limiting their recovery.
Specific to Travis’s injuries, Public Healthcare is unfortunately restricted with prosthesis options, in most instances only able to provide basic prosthetics, which only allows for basic of movement, recovery and adaptation to a new life.
Life has changed for Travis, but that doesn’t mean it needs to be limited in anyway. With your support and donation, Travis will be able to have every option for recovery available, including:
· Dedicated private healthcare professionals (Physiotherapist, Doctors, Nurses, Phycologist and Administrative Staff) and consistent privatized rehabilitation in a state of the art facility - $18,200.00
· Customized athletic prosthesis - $18,000.00
· Medical equipment and mobility support - $3,800.00
Additional proceeds will be donated to Calgary based Prosthetic & Rehabilitation Centres. In addition to this campaign, Travis family and friends are hosting an inclusive fundraising event, Thursday November 9th. Tickets can be purchased here .
Lastly, because of the generous hearts of private and corporate donors, a silent auction has been made available for anyone interested in bidding on unique and sought after of items. Details can be found here (additional items will be updated as donated).
