Travis' Recovery Assistance Fund

Dear Family and Friends,

I am reaching out to you because you have faithfully been keeping track of Travis Burney’s progress and healing on my Facebook page.  Many have asked, “How can I help?” Up until this point we have requested prayer support. We are very thankful for and appreciate all the prayers that have been lifted on behalf of my brother, Travis--he is a walking Miracle! Travis and his family still need your fervent prayers; his medical journey will continue for the near future and the next six months of his recovery are critical.  During this time, they are in need of monetary assistance. While Travis is at home recovering from his injuries, Lolly, his wife, will be his primary caretaker. Because of the caretaking responsibilities, Lolly is not able to work at her part-time job. Lolly also homeschools their children, so she has her hands full! The purpose of this GoFundMe account is to help supplement their deficit during this traumatic time in order to meet their basic needs at home.

On December 12th, Travis Burney suffered severe trauma to his head in a work accident.  A 2000-pound hydraulic liftgate (that mounts to the back of a moving van) fell on him causing brain trauma, skull fractures, multiple facial fractures (including eye-sockets and jaw), which have resulted in impaired vision, impaired hearing, and trochlear nerve damage. As a result of the injuries to his mouth, Lolly has to puree all of his food for the next six months.  Travis spent a total of 12 nights and 13 days in the hospital where he was on a breathing tube, feeding tube. He has had two brain surgeries to place three stents and embolization of the carotid artery- to stop bleeding in the main blood vessel going from the brain to the heart.

The most recent angiogram showed that Travis still had a small amount of bleeding in his brain, but we are praying and believing that will be healed.  His next angiogram is Monday, January 6th. Thank you to all who have followed the updates. For more updates, visit my Facebook page (Brooklynn Foster --it’s public even to non-Facebook users). More than anything, thanks for your continued prayers for the miraculous and speedy healing of Travis.  Travis still has a long road ahead for complete healing and recovery.

At this time, we are anticipating their needs in6-month increments. At this point, we hope to provide them financial support through June 2020.    With both Travis and Lolly out of work, the financial hit is hard; they are currently operating at a monthly deficit of $1350.

To help with this deficit, I have created this GoFundMe account with Travis’s and Lolly’s permission.

If you could support our GoFundMe account by making a donation, or sharing his story with your network, we would greatly appreciate it. We know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps get closer to our goal! If you can commit to a one-time gift or commit to a monthly donation through June 2020—it all helps.  Any contributions will go directly to an account Lolly has set up for this purpose.

Let us know if you have any questions and I’ll be happy to answer them.
