Travis Warners Recovery

Donation protected

Travis Warner, our plumbing department manager was involved in a serious accident on Sunday evening, July 18th when he was jacking up a structure for an addition to his home to make into bedrooms for his two daughters, Harlem and Bentley aged 8 and 2 and more room for Tiffani his wife on their small working rural farm out West Fraser Rd. What we know so far is that he was sitting under the structure securing it when it shifted and collapsed on top of him, breaking his back in two places, 6 ribs, his collar bone and shoulder and partially collapsing both lungs as well as numerous other injuries to his body, head, and face. He was unresponsive when the ambulance, police and rescue arrived but regained consciousness at the hospital to give his wife a thumbs up. That is our Travis! Still needing to reassure the love of his life that he was ok. Travis was flown out of Quesnel Monday morning to Vancouver General Hospital in critical condition. As of this writing his back is in “unstable condition”. If it swells more or anything changes, he could have permanent spinal cord damage so they are trying to push his MRI so they can proceed with surgery. He is slated to go for an MRI at 7pm Monday and surgery on his back this morning at 4am. If the MRI does not show anything worse then what they have seen, then he has a choice of which surgery he wants. One would be getting two rods, and everything put in his back for 3 months and then removed and another 3 months recovery and those are minimum guesses for recovery times. Otherwise, he must get 6 - 7 vertebrae fused together, and he does not want that. If any of you know Travis, you will probably agree with me that he is the hardest worker you have ever met and he’s not ready to surrender without a fight. Travis has a long road to recovery ahead of him and he and his young family need all the support they can get right now. We want to do everything we can to help Travis and his family get through the difficult weeks and months to come. His benefit plan only covers a small amount of what his family needs and only for a limited time so we would welcome any donations, no matter how small to help his family cover the financial costs that will be coming until he is able to come back to work. We are also asking for prayers for the doctors, nurses and specialists who will be working with Travis, so he gets the best possible care. Prayers for the family as they navigate what is to come in the months ahead. Prayers for Travis’ full recovery and speedy return to good health free of any complications.
