Travis is the love of my life and the intended recipient of my left kidney. In April 2019, his life was turned upside down. After a check up and some blood tests, he received a call from his doctor telling him to go to the emergency room immediately.

He didn’t leave the hospital for almost 2 weeks. His kidneys were failing and only functioning at 4%. They had slowly shut down as a result of living with a hereditary kidney disease called IgA Nephropathy for nearly 20 years.

For more than 4 years now he’s been surviving through 4 hour long hemodialysis treatments 3 times a week. In those 4 years, he’s had 10 surgeries, spent 35+ days in the hospital and endured almost 2,500 hours of life-saving dialysis treatments.

In early 2022, I made the decision to apply to be a donor, not even knowing my own blood type. After months of extensive testing and consultations, we got the call…

I AM A MATCH...a perfect one, actually. After almost a year of battling some health complications, Travis was finally approved to receive MY kidney. Our Transplant is scheduled for May 16, 2023.

Despite being faced with severe health challenges, Travis remains resilient, optimistic and an inspiration to those around him. You’ll never hear him complain, and would never guess the depth of his illness.
