Emmy the DDB: Make Her Last Days Joyful

2026- Emmy is still with us and needs your help again! The hip dysplasia that most often strikes her breed is ravaging her hip and her ability to move around. She would benefit from a good hip brace but so far I haven’t found one that fits and helps AND is affordable for our situation. The Balto brace looks like it would work, but we don’t have the money to buy one or for the additional pain meds she needs to keep her life comfortable. More information on how we got here below, please consider helping Emmy out!

This is Emmy, my 5 year old Dogue de Bordeaux service dog, and she is in congestive heart failure. she was diagnosed in March 2025, and then in June 2025 she got bloat and needed emergency surgery to save her life. That emergency has made the funds for travel very VERY limited and there is no money for the ongoing vet care. Please read the story below and consider helping the goodest girl get the most time she can have and do it enjoying the road trips like she does.

Last year I had to have shoulder surgery that kept me out of work for 7 months. Because of this I couldn’t afford her pet insurance premium which had just gone up so I had to cancel it. Now here we are, having racked up a $13,000 vet bill, and looking at $500/month in vet care for however long she has left (could be anywhere from now to months) and the financial stress is making an already bad situation worse. I know some will find it weird, but she is my whole world and I don’t know what I will do without her. She is the goodest girl and the smartest dog I have ever known! She is a riot too- so SO funny!

Emmy is odd for a DDB in that she LOVES to travel and sniff new things. She is happiest in the car rolling off to some new destination with her Mama. We have purchased a small motorhome and the plan is to travel with her for whatever time she has left- she deserves it after all she has done for me. The first of this money will go for her immediate vet care needs, and help replenish the savings I emptied to pay for her recent emergency care- we’ll continue to document our journey on YouTube. Any funds remaining after she passes will be donated to Northwest Boxer Rescue in her name and to Old Growth Veterinary Emergency to help pay for pets who need care that their fur parents can’t afford. ❤️

If you would like to see more Emmy, there is a ton on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/share/15aefCWoRt/?mibextid=wwXIfr and all videos will be uploaded to YouTube at https://youtube.com/@bigcrazydoglife?si=UlAooCnrIJnxxjnW

Thank you for your support! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
